One of the concepts I hope to explore soon on Risk+Progress is the "dematerialization" of products that we consume, that enable us to do more with less. To that end, might it actually be better think of digital technology in terms of carbon footprint that it reduces relative to physical world analogues?
For example, I may send more emails now that have the convenience of email, but I am reducing the number of physical letters I am sending in the mail. I get the news on my phone, surely this actually saves C02 compared with a daily newspaper, magazine subscriptions...etc.
I was thinking of sending this note is worth 0.1g of CO2e. But decided to send as value of Sharing human emotions of appreciation is worth the damage to nature. Loved this every bid Dr. Parva.
